The Australian government wants to become one of the top 3 digital governments in the world within the next 10 years.
It recognises that the success of its strategy is underpinned and measured by a series of key outcomes which in turn are supported by the tools and foundations the government defines as critical to delivery. But while the need for transformation in the public sector is pressing and the roadmap to achieve this vision is defined, departments, agencies and organisations are at the forefront of recognising the complex challenges they face on the road to achieving these strategic outcomes defined by the government.
According to Salesforce’s 2020 report State of the Connected Customer, 80% of customers now consider the experience a company provides to be as important as its products and services. They also expect organisations to know them better, and to use this knowledge to further improve experiences, with 66% of customers expecting companies to understand their needs and expectations.
These heightened expectations are not restricted to the commercial world.
Public sector agencies at all levels now face significant pressure to meet the needs of digitally literate and highly demanding citizens, by transforming services and how they are delivered.
