The Susan McKinnon Foundation (SMF) is focused on strengthening Australia’s democracy and public administration. SMF was established in 2015 and an injection of funds in 2021 made it one of the country’s largest philanthropic foundations. The foundation is non-ideological, rigorous and practical with some early initiatives including the McKinnon Institute and funding of the e61 Institute.

On a path to annual expenditure of $50m within the next 5 years and $100m in the early 30’s, SMF requires a proven leader to drive its growth. We are seeking someone with considerable management experience and a first-rate intellect. Applicants will have an operational & strategic mindset and importantly, a demonstrated track record of delivering outstanding results. A key strength is your ability to build exceptional teams and organisational culture which combines high performance with high levels of team engagement.
